The term Low Noise Cable is a term that Systems Wire and Cable is very familiar with. Over our many years in business, in regards to Custom Cables, this term has grown to be more and more significant, and today is referred to in many more Modern Cable Specs.
Sadly, as this specification grew in importance, it’s understood definition has become somewhat ambiguous and blurred. When processing cables that electrical engineer’s place Low Noise Requirement on, Systems Wire often has to ask, How Low Noise?
At Systems Wire and Cable, with our goal of being on the forefront of Low Noise Cable Designs, we have been continually developing our manufacturing processes to simplify constructions and still meet these demanding Low Noise Specifications.
One such standard we often test to is ANSI/AAMI EC53:2013 5.3.2 Cable and Lead wire Noise. This Standard has a requirement for the Tested Sample to generate less than a 50 uV of triboelectric noise between signal wires when the sample is mechanically manipulated. Being a long time preferred supplier to many Medical Product Manufactures, Systems Wire and Cable has refined its manufacturing processes and also draws from our many years of accumulated knowledge in this challenging field.
Sometimes we get a chuckle out of the fact that many Cable Manufacturers claim to produce AAMI Compliant Low Noise Constructions, but they seem to lack the actual Test Equipment and Fixtures to actually test their Products for compliance. We often have Clients sending us other Manufactures Products to test for compliance. These results quite often shock our customers when they find the actual test results far exceed their Vendor’s Claims.
Systems Wire and Cable has continually invested in the Technology and Equipment to keep our Company relevant and on the forefront of Quality Low Triboelectric Noise Cables. We can help develop your requirements too. Please call us with your requirements and you’ll see, Systems Wire and Cable really understands it.
